I started as a School Counselor at Hempstead Elementary School in August of 2019. I have enjoyed working here so far. We have amazing staff members and students and it really feels like a family!
I started teaching for the Meridian Public School District in Meridian, MS in 1997. Prior to that I had worked as a Special Education para from August 1994- December 1996. I did my student teaching in MPSD from January 1997-June 1997. During the summers from 1995-2000 I worked for a summer camp called Camp High Hopes which served students ages 3-21 who had disabilities. I began as a counselor and worked up to Director in just a few summers.
I moved to TX in 2002 and have worked for Grace Christian Academy as their Triumph Coordinator (similar to 504), Sealy ISD as a 3rd Grade teacher, Boys and Girls Country as a Tutor, Waller ISD as a PPCD teacher, Cy-Fair ISD as a Resource teacher, Co-Teacher, PPCD teacher and School Counselor.
I have been married to my husband, Larry, since 2010. I have one AMAZING step-daughter named Reba who attend school in Huntsville and Graduated from Sam Houston State University. She currently works for TX parks and recreation. I have a chihuahua named Charro, a papillon named Zoey, and an orange tabby cat named Ozzy. He is a mess. All of my pets bring me so much joy!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy writing, playing the piano and riding on the motorcycle with Larry.
I also enjoy singing, musical theater, and various types of concerts.
