Waller County Emergency Services Visit HES

How many people can you fit in a Waller County ambulance?  At Hempstead Elementary, you can fit 21 on a day when the ambulance crew pays a friendly visit to the school that is not an emergency. 

Various branches of the Waller County Emergency Services visited with a group of students at Hempstead Elementary on Wednesday, March 1. 

EMT Chris Scarborough and Paramedic Kaylene Moeller with Waller County EMS explained their job duties and some of the equipment on the ambulance.  Deputy Marcos Zepeda, Deputy Mike Durrell, and Sgt. John Moon with the Waller County Sheriff’s Office let the students tour the SWAT vehicle and explained how they work from inside the vehicle to protect the community.  Mitchell Conner and Evan Shepherd with the Waller Harris Emergency Services District explained their duties and ways they assist the other emergency personnel while they let the students tour one of the Hempstead Volunteer Fire Department’s fire trucks.

As each group explained their job duties, they stressed to the students that they are there to help the students and protect the community.  The students took turns looking at each of the emergency vehicles and thanked the emergency personnel as they gave them each a small handmade token of appreciation.

A huge thank you goes out to all the emergency personnel who help keep our schools safe and protect our community each and every day.  One Town...One Team...One Goal!

Hempstead Elementary may have broke a record after fitting 21 people in the ambulance on a day when the emergency services crews pay a friendly visit to the campus.  Thank you to EMT Chris Scarborough and Paramedic Kaylene Moeller for allowing the students to see what the inside of an ambulance looks like.
