HLSR Rodeo Art Winners Announced at HES

It’s Cool to be a Chicken at Hempstead Elementary

Congratulations to the Hempstead Elementary District Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo School Art Program winners. 

In January each year, schools across the state participate in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo School Art Porgram.  The artwork in divided into three categories: elementary, junior high and high school.

Best of Show, Gold Medal and Special Merit awards are selected in each category.

Alonso Coronado won Best of Show for his colored drawing “The Chicken Dance.” 

Kacey Carrol was the Gold Medal recipient for his colored drawing, “Texas Chicken.”

Coronado and Carrol’s drawings will be on display in the Hayloft Gallery at NRG Center during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo which runs from  February 25 – March 17, 2019.
