Hempstead Elementary is bringing back Parent University nights to help parents.
A Parent University Night for 3rd – 5th Grade will be held on Tuesday, January 22, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A Parent University Night for Kindergarten – 2nd Grade will be held on Tuesday, January 29, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Parents are highly encouraged to attend. During these nights, staff will introduce Math and Reading resources that are easily accessible at home to help students succeed at school. There will also be discussion on team building skills to increase the parent and school relationship which plays a vital part in the success of the students.

February is Black History Month. Black History Month is celebrated annually in the United States during the month of February.
It’s time to make someone’s day! Take time to make a difference in someone’s day by just giving a little more effort. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Remember, the smallest things can mean the most to someone at the right time.

Did you know there have been 45 Presidents of the United States since George Washington took office in 1789?
National FFA Week, February 16-23, began in the week of George Washington’s birthday in 1948, in recognition of Washington’s legacy as an agriculturist and farmer. A young group of farmers founded FFA in 1928 with a mission to prepare future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population.
