Principal's Message

Welcome to Hempstead Elementary!

Hempstead Elementary wants to welcome you to a new school year!  Some changes have occurred over the summer while you were out.  PK3 & PK4 have a new home at the Early Childhood Center on 524 Austin Street (the old administration building).  Kindergarten and First grade will be in the Little Bobcat building.  Second and third grades will be on the south hall of the Big Bobcat building.  Fourth and Fifth grades will be on the north hall of the Big Bobcat Building.  The school library has a new home in the Little Bobcat building.

It is SUPER to be in the Pre-K/Kindergarten Program at Hempstead Elementary. We invite you to join Our Incredible Program. The PK/Kindergarten Round-Up day is set for Tuesday, May 22 from 4:30-6:30 pm at the Early Childhood Center.

Five students at Hempstead Elementary were recognized for their artistic talents as part of the 2018 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Schoolâ„¢ School Art Program. Congratulations to Andrew Salinas, Jayden Perez, Esteban Vidal, Jasmine Rodriguez, and Kelci Tejeda.

The 100th day of school will be on Friday, February 16. The Pre-K staff has thought of a fun way to celebrate and are asking students to join them in dressing up like they are 100 years old!
